More up to date recent works, reports and pics from the world of a modern millwright!

Again following several months of work the mill in Bridgenorth has finally been opened following the completion of the first phase of works funded by grant scape.
Well done to the Mill trust and all the hard work put in by the george family.

The cap and machinery at Berkeswell have been thoroughly surveyed and the repair specification prepared for the architect
 
the rear sill was none existant and the elm had serious death watch beetle infestation.
the cap was weatherproofed with a special tailored canvas top with an integral skirt and roped down

 Further work at Alberbury for Andrew Norman, which included the delivery of two newly rebuilt 54" french burrs last week and a start on the main timbers for his cap frame, 23 feet long English oak 14 inches 12 each weighing over 3/4 ton.

The rebuild of my steam mill is nearing completion & will hopefully be at the local Brailes Show in August.

Most interesting work was the start of removal of the gear from the collapsed mill at Cookley, for restoration, which will eventually become part of a house.
